Visual simulation
In terms of selecting paint colour for the baby’s room. In initial months, the baby can’t see colours at all. Only after 3 months they begin to see colours. So, considering the sensitivity to colours in the initial months, the room should have monochromatic colour theme. And, as the baby grows, start adding hints of colours with patterns and shapes through easy to apply and remove decals, which helps in baby’s brain stimulation and overall growth.
Ventilation
Fresh air is important for everyone, but it’s particularly valuable for infants. Having a window outlet in the room helps fresh air circulation in the room. Artificial sources such as fans can also be used for air circulation in the room. A survey conducted on ventilation for nursery rooms reported that infants who slept in a bedroom with a fan ventilating the air had a 72% lower risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) than those who slept in a bedroom without a fan. Few precautions to keep in mind while placing the fan is to ensure that it’s placed away from the immediate area of baby’s crib and is pointed away from the baby .This will help avoid it from being knocked or toppled over and also reduce the chance of it harming your baby. By being pointed away at an angle, it will reduce the chance of infants getting a chill.
Maximizing the space
Having maximum of play area with soft cushioning is a must with the growing movements of the baby as he grows. Furniture with open shelving and low height beds with childproof edges are preferred.
While choosing furniture, look for functions more than form as functional designs are considered long-term and economical as well.

Stick with low lumen ratings with a colour temperature depending on the effect you want to create, warm white is observed to work best.
While choosing the lights, instead of using fluorescent lights, go for LED light bulbs. As fluorescent lamps and bulbs contain small traces of mercury vapour that, although aren’t dangerous to adults, can be serious health hazards for infants and pets. On the other side, LED bulbs contain no mercury and use plastic components instead of glass making the bulb less dangerous during breakages.
